Workshop principles

How the work gets made.

No growth hacks. No feature pileups. Just careful software for a clear human moment.

01

Start with the moment

A mountain drive. A race night. A quick market check. The context comes before the code.

02

Make it understandable

Clear words, obvious controls, useful defaults, and enough personality to feel made—not manufactured.

03

Respect what came before

Preservation work keeps provenance visible, seeks permission, and treats original creators with care.

04

Leave it better tested

Real-device review, repeatable checks, and patient iteration turn experiments into dependable tools.

About the workshop

Made after hours.
Meant to last longer.

Graphite & Wonder is the personal app workshop of Chris Leskiw in Calgary, Alberta. I build Android apps in my free time for fun, education, and the satisfaction of turning a useful idea into something people can hold.

The name is a promise: graphite for sketching, testing, and doing the practical work; wonder for the curiosity that makes a small project worth starting.
